City Summit & Gala by Founder, Ryan Long

Magic Image Hollywood Magazine was invited  to the 2018 City Summit and Gala on March 4th at Universal studios, one of the best events of the year in Hollywood! 
The City Summit is a world-class, socially conscious business acceleration experience. The event was founded by social entrepreneur, Ryan Long, to educate, network, and inspire entrepreneurs.
Each day of the City Summit kicked off with a red carpet in the morning featuring the speakers, followed by speaking sessions from 8am to 5pm PST. Speakers were also available for media 1:1s in the green room throughout the day. The event’s moderator was Best Selling Author and Speaker, Greg Reid. The speakers included keynote, Ashton Kutcher (Actor, Founder of Thorn Foundation and Grade A Investments); Tom Bilyeu (Founder, Impact Theory and QUEST Nutrition);  Jeff Hoffman (Co-Founder of Priceline.com); Frank Shankwitz (Co-Founder of Make-A-Wish); Jay Samit (Vice-Chairmam, Deloitte); Tai Lopez (Investor, Thought Leader) and more.
The event also honored speaker, Jack Canfield (Author of Chicken Soup for the Soul and Success Principles) with the Commitment to Excellence Award.
City Gala March 4th 
The City Gala’s vision to advance community through humanitarian activities and events. The founder of the Gala, Ryan Long, volunteers for the beneficiaries of the Gala for a full year prior to the event. Long’s goal is to train, develop, and assist each beneficiary of the Gala. All beneficiaries are aligned with solving the world’s global grand challenges.
 
The 2018 City Gala started with a 90-foot outdoor red carpet at Universal Studios Hollywood™ featuring celebrities Matthew McConaughey (Actor, City Gala Inspiration Honoree and Speaker), Carrie Bernans (Black Panther),  London Brown (Ballers), Adam Mendoza (SWAT and American Horror Story), Joe Jackson (Father of the late Michael Jackson), Tom Choi (Disney’s Bizaardvark and Teen Wolf), Sheldon Bailey and Bubba Ganter (Nickelodeon’s GameShakers) and more. The event included a celebrity poker tournament, fashion show, live entertainment, dinner + open bar, and silent auction hosted by Charity Stars. The gala portion of the event took place inside The Globe Theater where Matthew McConaughey was presented with the Inspiration Award and then gave a speech discussing his work with his foundation,  just keep livin. The event also premiered the trailer for the feature film “Wishman” based on the life of Frank Shankwitz (Co-Founder of Make-A-Wish.) Finally, the Achievement Award was given to Dr. James Dentley (Co-Founder, NBC University) for his work mentoring thousands of students.
 There were nine beneficiary charities and sponsors:

  • Sponsors: The City Summit was presented by Nova Wealth Management. Other sponsors included SnackNation, Brigade LA, Anton Jae Global, NBC University, Allure Events, Secret Knock, The Celebrity Installer, One One 77 Creative Studio, Shared Success, The Income Store, and Fuel.
About Founder, Ryan Long:
Entrepreneur, Ryan Long has found philanthropy and life inspiration to be the ideal antidote for the hardships life has thrown at him. Ryan conceptualized City Gala in 2014 in order to assist startup, non-profit organizations obtain seed funding so that they could launch into a full-fledged business. The idea was to bring highly visible and influential individuals to speak on behalf of the charitable organizations and attract large donors and sponsors.
