Meet Writer and Novelist Erik Foge Cover story

Meet Writer and Novelist Erik Foge Let’s see what he is all about!

MIHM-Tell us a little bit about you, where are you from and what inspired you to pursue a career as a novelist.

EF-I’m originally from New Jersey and moved to Florida at age six. When I was 14, my parents sent me to Washington DC on a school trip. That was the first spark that got me interested in writing, but it also inspired me to work for the federal government. When I was a senior in high school, I met my best friend who’s father was the Fleet Master Chief of the Sixth Fleet. After that, I met some other amazing individuals throughout my college years. These individuals also made a huge impact on my writings. My main interests has always been World War Two and time travel. So, for my books I incorporated all three.

MIHM- You wrote “One Way Roads” and “We Know Your Name”, the prequel in the Project Pegasus Series. Tell more about it.

EF-We Know Your Name, first introduces the main character, Dr. Erik Függer, and how he gets recruited by the CIA and his training. In the book, the reader learns about him working with a team and how they deal with national security threats. Erik pursues dark truths that he knows could get him killed, he is caught up in a tempest of secrecy and lies – all of which he is forced to hide from everyone he knows. Soon, the line between friend and foe becomes inextricably blurred, leaving Erik cornered and ready for betrayal on all sides. And if he falters, he’s destined to become a star in the CIA Honor Book. One Way Roads, is the continuation and picks up where We Know Your Name leaves off. He is recruited to join Project Pegasus, a U.S. time-travel exploration program, to alter World War Two by saving Field Marshal Erwin Rommel. Erik discovers that an alternate plan to kill another highly influential individual has already been set in motion. As it turns out, the death of this individual will ultimately result in the Germans using rockets armed with atomic warheads…in 1944. Now he has a moral dilemma to end all moral dilemmas: to save humanity, he must keep Adolf Hitler alive.

MIHM- Tell us about the sequel Horizons Without Boundaries.

EF-In Horizons Without Boundaries, Erik once again travels back in time. This time he works to prevent the Germans from winning Battle of Britain, where others are attempting to alter history. This would have certainly altered the war. After he saves the outcome of Battle of Britain, he has to save a naval lieutenant which will prevent a nuclear war between the USA and USSR in 1962.

MIHM- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in History, with an emphasis on Russian history and politics. Why did you choose that major.

EF-My first calling was to work for (hint the agency is in my book) the government and either become an analyst or operations officer. I was approached by a government agency but things didn’t work out. Maybe that’s a good thing because I was told if I got in, I could never write my books.

MIHM- Do you plan to make movies based on your books?

EF-That would be amazing! I really believe in the story and I would love to see my characters come to life on the screen. Preserving our history and learning from it is so important.

MIHM-If you could work with somebody you admire, celebrity, politician, musician, leader or anybody else who would it be and why?

EF-Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson, or Robert Downey Jr. I love how they tell a story through film. They choose solid stories that grab you and pull you into that world and you feel as if you are a part of it.

MIHM-Define what success means to you?

EF-Success is working toward my dream. It starts as a challenge, but with hard work it can then become a reality. I love the feeling of satisfaction and self-accomplishment that comes from finishing and publishing a book.

MIHM-Who have been your biggest mentors in your career?

EF-I never really had a mentor. I would say my wife, friends, family, and publisher, Deeds Publishing, believed in me and my books. I thank them for all their support.

MIHM-What other projects are you working on right now?

EF-I’m currently working on the third book, Horizons Without Boundaries, and the fourth book, Between Methods and Madness, which is nearly finished. I’m also going be writing a book about soulmates, Serendipity Promise.

MIHM-How can people reach you, do you have social media, website, etc.

EF-People can follow and message me on: Instagram: Instagram.com/erikfoge Facebook: Facebook.com/erik.foge They can send an email to me by going to my website: www.erikfoge.com
