WENDY GUESS

Beauty, brains and brawn, Get to know our cover girl, Wendy Guess.

MAGIC IMAGE HOLLYWOOD MAGAZINE had the opportunity to interview the amazing Wendy Guess, she opened her heart to us, let’s see what she is all about.

Don’t let the girl-next-door, beauty pageant queen, laid back California vibe fool you. Wendy Guess is driven. Born in New York and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, she brought her southern belle charm to the City of Angels in 2000, not anticipating how long her stay would last. But after a few months, she realized Los Angeles would be the place she’d call home. A graduate of the University of Georgia, with a Bachelors of Business Administration, Wendy eventually found her niche as a technology speaker. She is the face and voice of some of the most successful companies around the globe. She speaks about a wide variety of technologies, from artificial intelligence firms to high tech drone manufacturers working with the US Military. On the other end of the spectrum, Wendy’s also expanded her professional career into commercial real estate investment and development, while joint venturing with other partners, focusing on luxury apartment buildings. To call her multi-faceted would be an understatement.

MIHM: What inspired you to enter into the field of tech speaking?

WG- While living in Atlanta, just after graduating from college, I was hired by a modeling agency to be an assistant to a key note speaker, at a tech conference. I was so intrigued and drawn to this field, that I made it my mission to master the art of narrating and ear prompting. I love learning and experiencing the many futuristic ways of communicating and traveling but don’t consider myself a technology expert. Though I didn’t initially aspire to be a public speaker, once I was in front of a live audience, the adrenaline just took over from there.

MIHM: What does success mean to you?

WG- I think everyone’s definition of success is unique to them. We all have our own personal goals. I feel it’s so important to stay true to yourself, and not be defined by the opinions of others, or to compare yourself to others. I’m very passionate and enthusiastic about what I do every day. My feeling is that true happiness is living in the moment and embracing it, which is something we can all agree on and strive to achieve.

Cover model Wendy Guess is full of surprises! At age 14, she took modeling classes, then went on to book print ads and win numerous pageant titles. Wendy started booking fitness and lifestyle campaigns while modeling for various catalogs, which she still does today. She’s never considered herself to be a “fashion” model, per se, but more of a fitness and commercial model, which has been quite fulfilling and lucrative for her. She’s always had a passion for fitness and taught fitness classes through high school and college, and is also a disciple of power yoga.

MIHM: What gets your heart beating faster, tech speaking or modeling?

WG: They are so different yet both rewarding and fulfilling, I love and enjoy them both and love having that variety in my career.

MIHM: What kind of workout and diet do you subscribe to?

WG: I make sure I do some kind of exercise every day. I do power yoga 3-4 days a week, which is a flow practice with music, while incorporating a lot of strength moves. On other days, I do cardio-hiking, running, or gym cycling.

My diet is not always strict, but what works best for me before an event or shoot, is a diet of greens and protein while excluding carbs. I also do intermittent fasting at the same time (where you can only eat for 8 hours out of a 24 hour period).

MIHM: What do you think about the current situation in the country and what would you think you can do to change it or make it better?

WG- As much as I dislike the divide and anger we’re currently experiencing, it’s important to share our views and call people out on their integrity or lack thereof, as everyone should be made accountable in politics and humanity. I do my best to stay optimistic and respect our leaders, but at the same time I’m open-minded with regard to all the different opinions and view points. It’s interesting to travel to other parts of our country, and hear the contrast of feelings and opinions. I sound so diplomatic, but I’m truly level-headed when it comes to our country and our future. Hopefully my optimism and positive attitude will be an example to

others, because I do have faith in our system and the future of our country.

Wendy’s greatest passion is raising her two daughters as a newly single mother. She and her beautiful daughters are animal rights advocates supporting The ASPCA, The Humane Society, and Best Friends Initiative.

MIHM: It’s great to give back, what is the organization in the picture?

WG: This organization is close to our hearts and does so much for innocent animals. We adopted an adorable kitten here 2 years ago. The NKLA with Best Friends Animal Society serves as a model for how the entire nation can become a no-kill environment, meaning no pet ever must die in a shelter again, just because they don’t have a home. Their website is www.NKLA.org

MIHM: What kind of volunteer work do you do?

WG: I participate in many events and activities at my daughter’s schools. When volunteering I really enjoy working with children, whether it’s in the classroom, hosting fund-raisers or chaperoning field trips. It truly rewarding and I love seeing inside their world.

MIHM: How can people reach you, do you have social media, website, etc.?

WG- Yes, I do. My website is www.wendyguess.com
